Meet Lisa Santilli
Not many people can truthfully admit to loving their job, but Lisa Santilli, Special Projects Coordinator at Boerman Moving and Storage, can. Santilli, who came to Boerman from a retail background, started out by working in the office of Boerman in 2019. After about a year of working in the office, Santilli was offered a job in the warehouse. “Every day is different, and I am always busy,” Santilli says of her job. “I am very glad that I spent a year in the office because it made me realize that I need a job where I move. I feel appreciated here.”
What do you do for Boerman?
I am the special projects coordinator and the co-warehouse manager. Anything that is not a local or long distance move or is home delivery, falls under my umbrella. That includes restaurants, hospitals, hotels, senior living centers, interior designers, grocery stores, retail stores, etc. In the warehouse, my focus is freight receiving. So I lead a team checking in all freight, compare it to the packing lists, separate out orders, and get it put away. I also control the packing materials, any customer pick ups that we have, and just about anything else in the warehouse except for household good storage.
What’s your favorite memory from working at Boerman?
I don’t know. I have a ton of good memories from personal interactions with coworkers, drivers, or clients, to a long but satisfying day in the warehouse, to the Christmas parties. I can honestly say that I love my job.
Tell me about yourself.
I am the mother of 2 daughters who are both grown and out of the house now. I live next door to my parents which horrifies some people but has been very good for my family. We are a pretty close knit group. I love music and have different playlists for every mood. I am a generally positive, glass-half-full, things-are-going-to-work-out type of person. I was a cheerleader for 10 years so that may have something to do with it.
What are your interests and hobbies?
I am an avid reader and knitter. I love baking and bake for the guys once every week or so.
