The situation we all face right now is surreal. It feels like we are watching a movie, but unfortunately it is not.
The news coverage about the Corona Virus is everywhere and we are following closely along to this quickly evolving, ever-changing situation to be sure we are taking the correct measures to keep everyone, customers and staff, healthy & safe during this uncertain time.
Our administrative staff has begun functioning at an alternating 50% in office, 50% work-from-home to keep our office under 10 people at any given time. This change has not impacted our operations and all staff is available by phone and email during normal business hours. Staff members are also disinfecting various common areas of the office several times per day. Our office doors have been closed to any outside “guest” at this time. In order to eliminate congregating and to encourage social distancing, one member of each crew is allowed to enter to retrieve and return paperwork to the office.
In addition to office changes, we have hosted extra health and safety meetings for staff & crews. When calling to confirm moves, we are getting verbal confirmation that everyone in the household is well and has not been exposed to anyone with COVID-19. We have posted the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 around the office to inform our staff of what to look for. All moving crews have been equipped with hand sanitizers, face masks, and gloves to be used during our scheduled jobs. Each job folder with paperwork is paired with a new and sanitized pen & a personal hand sanitizer. At this time, we are not accepting or providing any used boxes.
Our sales team has the capabilities of doing virtual tours (via FaceTime, Zoom, WhatsApp, and other video chat platforms) for any customer that would not like an in-home estimate at this time.
As for the logistics division of our company, we have stopped delivering mattresses, cabinets, etc into homes and have begun to only deliver to garage or front door areas. We are not accepting any pick-ups or disposals of these items at this time. Our delivery crews can see up to 10 homes per day, creating a lot more possible exposure. By eliminating inside placement and picking up of items from inside a home, we have decreased that possibility greatly. Our warehouse hours have changed to 9 am – 2 pm as well.
The inside of all of our trucks are being sprayed with a EPA-Registered (EPA Reg. No. 1839-86-61247) disinfectant to keep them clean and disinfected.
Our staff is working diligently to keep up to date on all the happenings surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. It has created a “new normal” for the majority of our country. We are following along closely to take the correct measures to keep everyone we encounter healthy and safe during this scary and stressful time.
While many things have changed, some things need to stay consistent. The moving & storage industry is one of many industries considered to be essential. We will continue to provide our same great service while updating everyone on additional precautions we are taking to mitigate the spread of the virus.
We understand and sympathize with the state of stress everyone is currently in. We truly appreciate the support and understanding of our efforts from the community while we navigate this new territory. We are here to answer any questions and concerns you may have. We know that moving is stressful on a normal day, we are doing all we can to not allow the current state of the world to add any extra stress to your move.
Stay healthy. Stay safe. Stay positive.
