Football Traditions
There are plenty of great things about the fall season, like flannels, the beautiful foliage, pumpkin spiced everything, apple picking, and so much more! But the fall season is also known as FOOTBALL SEASON!! The football season isn’t just about cheering on your favorite team or winning your fantasy league, it’s also about coming together and having a good time with friends, family, and food!
We asked our staff at Boerman what their football tradition is and here is what they had to say!
One of our in-home estimators, Ken Wolf, said his “Go to Plan for Football Sunday” is…..
“First off it’s all about the wardrobe, must have Packers Sox and Green Bay t shirt under a Green Bay hoodie if cooler weather. I have been known to make a wardrobe change if the game is going South! No Superstitions here! * Just pure Fanatic *
Morning starts off with a Glorious Bloody, I’m usually at my neighbor’s garage by 10:30 am for the Bloodies, My neighbor and good friend SteveO is a Bears fan unfortunately. We make our Bloody Mary’s and talk trash. Other neighbors join in.
Depending on the game times we will grill brats or burgers or sausages. We always have some chips and dips going in a variety of flavors , warm Queso cheese is a staple.
At kick off it’s Game On! Bush latte’s take over and give us the Liquid courage we need to survive the game and talk smack even with a loss! Mostly celebrating if you’re a Green Bay fan, Bears fans are usually Drowned in their sorrows talking about how They wish they had a great quarterback, they also talk frequently about replacing their head coach. The Desert is just listening to them cry about how bad the Bears are!
Our over the phone estimator, Ty Magino’s, Football Sunday is filled with flag football and hanging out with his dogs…
“Our tradition on Sunday morning/afternoon (depending on our game time) starts with my flag football team Phantoms. We are currently ranked 1st in the nation in the competitive platform. After our games, we typically have a tailgate party with our neighbors for the Bear’s games. We both get together during the week to see what each other is planning to cook for the festivities and complement our meals off each other. This weekend was terrible weather, so Amber and I decided to do some take-out from Buffalo Wild Wings and hang out with the dogs””
Rachel Anderson, our VP of Administration, spends her Football Sunday with friends and family…
“Our football tradition is to get together with our friends for the first regular season game of the year and also to get together for the Super Bowl. Sometimes its just our two families, sometimes other families join us. We love to start the season together and end the season together. Our Super Bowl get-togethers always have strip cards for every quarter. The food menu usually consists of Beef sandwiches from Buona Beef, Onion soup dip, and whatever other munchies are sounding good that week. And, of course, beer, and vodka lemonades.”
