Meet Melinda Foust
Melinda Foust is a mom of three teenagers–a son and two daughters. But she is no stranger to working for Boerman Moving and Storage. “Rachel (Vice President of Administration at Boerman) and I have known each other since we were little–4 and 6 years old,” Foust said. “[Rachel] started working here in high school. When it was time to get an adult job, Rachel finally got me in here in 2000,” Foust said, adding that it wasn’t easy to get a job at Boerman during that time. “They were very strict. I had to prove myself.” Foust started by answering phones and moved her way up. When the company moved to its current location, she took over as Distribution Coordinator for six years. She then took a 13 year break to be a stay-at-home-mom to her three children. When Foust returned, she started out the same way she did in 2000–by answering phones part-time. She then progressed into being the local move coordinator.
What do you like most about working at Boerman?
I’ve been back now for five years. Obviously, [I love that] it’s family-orientated. I love the Boermans; they’re like family. There’s great vibes here. We all joke around and have fun. It’s not horrible to come to work every day. A lot of people can’t say that about their job.
What are your interests and hobbies?
If I’m not [at work], I’m always doing something with my kids. I’ve been married for 19 years. I live close to work, so it’s easy going back and forth. I love being outdoors– kayaking, all that kind of stuff.
I love refurbishing things–finding treasures, building stuff; I like projects and all sorts of stuff like that. And sometimes those projects turn into entire remodels of rooms. She may not be a social media person, but she’s always on Pinterest.
